Senior FP&A Analyst - Oakland or Fremont, CA

Summary

We are actively seeking a Senior Analyst to develop and perform planning, reporting and analysis of our financial statements, product costs and operating expenses. This is a cross functional role, interacting with key stakeholders and senior management throughout the company. The successful candidate will possess a strong curiosity for how the business works, a passion for accurate forecasting and deconstructing performance, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to work independently.

The Senior FP&A Analyst position is an individual contributor position reporting to the CFO.

Duties and Responsibilities (others may be assigned)

  • Oversee preparation of budgets and forecasts, month-end reporting and analysis, operational and management reporting

  • Develop product costing models

  • Design, prepare, and automate periodic dashboards

  • Report and analyze operating results, trends and metrics for the CFO and executive team

  • Support the month-end close through identification of expenses to be accrued; work closely with accounting to ensure expenses are properly recorded

  • Assist with analysis and review of business cases for investment, including contracts, purchase orders and tracking against plan

  • Become embedded with partner organizations across the company, establish trust and quickly understand the business, economics and metrics

  • Develop models on trends, key business drivers and financial results to prioritize & plan investment decisions

  • Partner closely with ERP team to insure success of relevant module implementations

Qualifications      

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or equivalent

  • 6-8 years prior work experience with 2 years or more in cost accounting

  • Experience preferred in FP&A and / or corporate finance

  • Superior analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Self-motivated and highly inquisitive

  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills with proven success partnering and collaborating across a wide spectrum of functions

  • Strong understanding of accounting principals

  • Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint

  • Proficiency with NetSuite, QuickBooks; planning software/analysis tools a plus

  • Passion for solar is always a plus
